Terms of service

These terms govern use of the TrueScope Build website, member area and any construction quote-review service you order.

Effective date: 11 August 2026 · Version 1.1

1. Agreement and operator details

By using this site you agree to these terms, the Privacy & POPIA Notice and the Professional Disclaimer. TrueScope Build operates the service; the merchant and contracting-party details appear in Yoco checkout and the order confirmation. A Smart-service agreement is formed only after you submit the order from an authenticated project, accept these terms and the early-performance consent, and TrueScope receives Yoco's signed payment confirmation. A browser return or success page alone is not proof of payment.

2. The service

TrueScope Build provides independent, AI-assisted construction quote intelligence. Quick Quote Check is a concise risk review and does not include an editable BOQ. AngriDave Smart Quote Breakdown converts one quote into a detailed BOQ with PDF, Excel and CSV outputs. Smart Multi-Quote Analysis reads and aligns two or three supplied quotes. Complete Human-Checked Review adds a human quality check, consultation and action note, subject to confirmed availability. The order confirmation defines the purchased deliverables, document limit and target turnaround.

Turnaround targets begin only after we receive readable, complete documents and any requested information. They are targets, not guarantees, unless the order confirmation expressly says otherwise.

3. Free tools

The public Free Tools Library uses only the information you enter and processes it in your browser. It does not accept, upload, read, extract or verify contractor documents; verify market prices; create a document-derived BOQ; or provide a professional opinion. The DIY Quote Comparison Planner organises only your manually entered headline figures, broad scope classifications and allowance assumptions. Its scenario totals and coverage indicator are planning aids, not verified findings, revised offers or contractor rankings. TrueScope does not recommend a contractor through the free tools.

4. Your responsibilities

  • Be at least 18 and legally able to enter the agreement.
  • Provide accurate, complete, lawful and readable information.
  • Upload only documents you own or are authorised to share.
  • Remove unnecessary identity numbers, bank details, health information, children’s information and other sensitive content.
  • Independently verify important measurements, site conditions, contractor credentials and professional requirements.
  • Do not use the site to infringe rights, distribute malware, probe security, scrape at scale, impersonate another person or break the law.

5. Accounts and security

When you create an account, you are responsible for accurate registration information, a strong password and activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We may restrict or suspend access to protect the service, investigate misuse or comply with law, giving reasonable notice where practical.

6. Fees, tax and payment

Prices are stated in South African rand. Smart Quote Breakdown costs R1,950 and Smart Multi-Quote Analysis costs R2,950 through Yoco's secure hosted checkout. Quick Quote Check (R750) and Complete Human-Checked Review (R3,450) remain enquiry-led and are not sold through live checkout. The displayed consumer price is the final amount payable and no VAT is added on top. If VAT is chargeable, it is included and itemised on the order confirmation or invoice. Smart payments are once-off, with card and supported wallet methods shown by Yoco at checkout. Yoco processes payment credentials under its own terms and privacy notice; TrueScope stores the transaction reference and status, not full card details.

7. Cancellation, early performance and refunds

Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and Electronic Communications and Transactions Act are not excluded. Where a statutory cooling-off or cancellation right applies, we will honour it. To complete a Smart order online, you must expressly ask TrueScope to begin the electronic and AI-assisted service after confirmed payment, including where that is before a statutory cooling-off period ends. The service starts only after TrueScope receives Yoco's signed payment confirmation. This consent does not remove any statutory protection that cannot lawfully be waived.

If we cannot provide the purchased service, we will offer a reasonable remedy, re-performance where appropriate, or a refund as required by law. An approved refund will be returned through Yoco to the original payment method where available and legally permitted; provider and bank processing times may apply. Unless law provides otherwise, dissatisfaction with an opinion or a contractor’s response is not by itself a service failure. Request cancellation or a refund at enquiries@truescopebuild.co.za with the order reference.

8. Confidentiality and privacy

We treat uploaded project documents as confidential and use them only to provide, secure and support the service, comply with law, or as otherwise described in the Privacy & POPIA Notice. You retain ownership of your content and grant us a limited right to process it for those purposes.

9. Intellectual property

The TrueScope Build and AngriDave brands, site design, software, methods and original content belong to us or our licensors. You may use a purchased report for your personal or internal project decision-making and may share it with your appointed contractor or professional team. You may not resell, falsely attribute, publicly republish or use it to train another system without written permission.

10. No contractor relationship or guarantee

We are not your contractor, architect, engineer, quantity surveyor, attorney, building inspector or financial adviser. We do not appoint, certify, endorse or guarantee a contractor and do not guarantee a price, project outcome, workmanship, legal compliance or the discovery of every error. See the Professional Disclaimer.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or a consumer remedy that South African law does not allow us to exclude. To the extent law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, project delay, lost profit, contractor conduct, hidden site conditions, or a decision made without appropriate professional verification. Any permitted aggregate liability arising from a paid service is limited to the amount paid for that service.

12. Third-party services and availability

Links and integrations may lead to services we do not control, including payment, identity or communication providers. Their terms may also apply. We may maintain, change or discontinue features, but will not remove a paid consumer’s accrued statutory rights.

13. Complaints, disputes and law

Send a complaint to enquiries@truescopebuild.co.za. We will try to resolve it in good faith. These terms are governed by South African law, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent South African courts, without limiting any right to approach a regulator, ombud, tribunal or consumer authority.

14. Changes and severability

We may update these terms prospectively. Material changes will be highlighted where reasonably possible and do not rewrite an existing paid order unless law permits or you agree. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue.
