Transparent by design

How a TrueScope report reaches a finding.

Our methodology separates the information supplied, the checks performed and the limits of the result—so you can see what a report does and does not tell you.

The report path

Six stages, with the package scope visible throughout.

01

Start with your documents

The review is based on the quote or quotes and supporting information you supply. Legibility, completeness and document context affect what can be checked.

02

Extract and structure

AI-assisted extraction organises scope, line items, quantities, rates, allowances, exclusions, VAT and payment terms. Detailed packages also structure BOQ data and, where relevant, align multiple quotes.

03

Run defined checks

Deterministic arithmetic and package-specific checks test totals, VAT, completeness, provisional sums, exclusions, deposits and milestones. A price range appears only where an active, curated and dated South African benchmark matches the item, unit and location scope.

04

Connect findings to evidence

The report prioritises what looks clear, what needs attention and what may carry higher risk. Where the source allows, findings point back to a quote, page or excerpt and turn the issue into a practical contractor question.

05

Apply the service limit

Each package controls the depth and output. Quick, Essential and Risk checks do not include a full BOQ or price benchmarking. Smart services add structured exports; only Human-Checked includes an explicit TrueScope staff review and action note.

06

State what the report cannot prove

A review does not inspect the site, certify a design, verify workmanship or guarantee a contractor, price or outcome. Low-confidence or unmatched information remains flagged or blank rather than being invented.

Important boundaries

Decision support, not certification.

Automated does not mean infallible. AI can misread text, tables, units, handwriting or context. Critical figures and wording should be checked against the original document.

“Human-Checked” is specific. A TrueScope staff review is included only when the purchased service says so. Other services are automated, subject to the stated fulfilment workflow and package limit.

A benchmark is not a tender price. Matched ranges are dated, indicative context. Project conditions, specification, programme, access and contractor risk can materially change a real price.
